I’m currently: The Program Lead of the Elevate Dialogue portfolio at Civic (Re)Solve, a 10-year pro-democracy fund. We support projects that help Americans participate in civic life through trusted and relevant information.
I’ve done:
Social Impact at Paramount & the MTV Entertainment Group (MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, CMT, etc.)
Social Impact at General Assembly
Partnerships at Purpose
Advising on philanthropic programs, creative campaigns, and political giving
I’m curious about:
Leveraging culture, design, organizing, and creative campaigns to move the needle on social and economic issues.
Exploring how new tech, media, and mission-driven companies can address (or further) our biggest societal challenges.
Breaking down silos across nonprofits, companies, and philanthropy to identify fresh ways to solve old, persistent problems.
Establishing ways to rebuild civic connection, trust, and civic life in the United States.
Connecting with leaders working on campaigns on complex structural issues (think: democracy, income inequality, and costs of living).
I enjoy working on:
Building new programs from scratch with small, nimble teams.
Rapid response campaigns that require quick, high-impact creative ideas.
Well-crafted, simple pitch decks that persuade.
Surfing (getting better at lefts, especially) and snowboarding.
I love working with:
Teams that collaborate even better together when the work gets hard.
Transparent leaders who want to know the impact on everyday people.
Organizations where everyone in every function and at every level has a role to play in impact initiatives.
Designers, creatives, and those who believe in the power of culture to change minds.
People who have fun and don’t take themselves too seriously.
I have press and speaking experience:
Univision: Power the Polls segment
Cheddar TV: Leaders for Change segment
Good Day LA: Vote Early Day segment
Fast Company: How Brands Are Taking a Stand
New York Daily News: Shutdown of L train (on behalf of Riders Alliance)
Guest lectures at Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, and NYU.

Maxwell Zorick is a social impact strategist and creative campaigner. He’s currently the Program Director of the Elevate Dialogue portfolio at Civic (Re)Solve. The fund provides patient, risk-tolerant capital to a network of pro-democracy leaders and organizations across the country.
Previously, he was the Senior Director of Social Impact at the MTV Entertainment Group at Paramount (which includes MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, among other networks), where he worked on social impact campaigns across many issues, including civic engagement, gun violence, and mental health. During that time, he played a leading role in starting Vote Early Day, a civic holiday with over 2,000+ partners to promote voting access and turnout.
Recently, he has been a strategy and campaigns consultant to a number of philanthropies, including Schmidt Futures and Grounded. Prior to MTV, he was the Manager of Social Impact at General Assembly, where he focused on programs that promote economic mobility through careers in technology. He has also been a Partnerships Manager at Purpose – a social impact agency – and a Senior Aide to Sean Eldridge and Chris Hughes – where we coordinated their political and charitable giving.
In 2013, he was a Fellow at The New Leaders Council in New York City. Maxwell graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from NYU.
